The End of Meat – Indiegogo campaign

We had a lightbulb moment when we were
cooking bacon on the stove and Esther’s five pounds at our feet waiting for something to
fall off of the stove. And I just was like oh my gosh like I just
it just happened it was like this bulb. It just – it was, it was a crazy moment and we never ate meat after that point. One of the worst practices
ever developed on the planet was this consumption of other animals
for food and using them for resources. These things happen behind walls, in
these dark horrible stinky places where no one’s allowed to enter. I think people who would not
participate in violence against these animals if they saw the animals first hand. I have no doubt about it. Nothing serious is going to change
until there’s just a catastrophe that forces us to change. That we just realize that
we’re killing the planet. There is a vision of the future,
that doesn’t include the exploitation of animals. Plant-based diets could reduce
greenhouse gas emissions of up to two-thirds and eight million
lives could be saved. Sanctuaries provide a sort of aspiration
to the kind of world we could create. This is the social justice
movement of our times it affects the most
number of beings. The initial goal is bringing
as many non-human animals from the side of the
things to the side of the persons. Instead of domesticating animals
we’re domesticating cells. How could I choose something that
came from a slaughtered animal if what my experience is is the same. I think it will eradicate traditional
livestock and meat production. Hello. My name is Marc Pierschel
and I’m the director of The End of Meat – a feature-length documentary
envisioning a future where meat consumption belongs to the past. Most of us have grown up
with meat on our plates and we’ve learned to love
barbecues, burgers and steaks – just as I did. But the price we pay for this
love affair is enormous. Not only does it affect our health; animal agriculture is also a
threat to the environment, contributes to climate change and kills over 56 billion
sentient beings every year. With the world population reaching 10
billion people in the next 30 years it’s crucial to reflect on
our consumption of animals. And exactly this is the subject of my film. What would the world look like,
if we stopped eating animals? The End of Meat provides
a new perspective to help people understand
the importance of the consumption choices for
the future of the planet. The plant-based movements on the rise and
now is the time to inspire everybody with a vision of a more compassionate
and peaceful future. We think The End of Meat is a film
that is able to do just that. Our first Indiegogo campaign made it
possible for us to shoot the film now we’re counting on
your support again. We need to raise the funds necessary
for the postproduction of the film, so we can make the most out
of the material we’ve shot and reach a global audience with the
important message of this film. Please contribute today
and help us finish this film so we can release it to the world. Thank you!
