Spanish Rice Mexican Rice Recipe – Vegan, Vegetarian, Healthy


Mexican Rice or Spanish Rice by The Sweetest Vegan Hey, my Sweet Vs, it’s The Sweetest Vegan here, and
Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner You can’t just serve plain white rice with Mexican dishes
so we will be making Mexican or Spanish rice Here we go. We are going to start by adding olive oil to a large pot. You can use a frying pan, but I needed something with
a cover so I am using my big pot. Then I am adding in some onions and chopped bell
pepper, along with salt to extract the water. Then a will sautee them until soft. Then add in white rice. then sautee that for a minute or two, stir it around. Add in salsa, instead of blending up tomatoes and all that stuff, I decided to make it easy on myself and just add regular chunky salsa. Add water, black pepper and whatever other seasonings you
want to add. Some people add cumin, but I just used what was in my pantry. Give it a good stir and let in simmer (covered) for 20-25 minutes. And the mexican rice should come out looking delicious like
this and it should taste just as good. It was really delicious and scrumptious. And that is it

  6. Hi there, nice recipe, a little simple for my taste, but I'm from Spain and that is not the way we cook Spanish rice, it's so much diferent, and also, the rice that we use is different from the one you are using in this video.

  7. i love this, just made it now and it tastes amazing! I used veg stock for the water and added in mushrooms and corn. Delicious thanku 🙂
