  7. I learned something here. Didn't know soaking lentils in cold water for 2 hours keeps them from falling apart and the towel over the pot with very low heat. I eat the yellow lentils and they get mashy. I'll try this today with my yellow lentils. The greenish brown ones make me toot and I can't eat those.

  10. They call this mujadara and you can make this with #4 bulgur this is one of my favorite pilaf. Heghineh the soupy salad next to this dish amazing, fine chopped green onions, parsley, pressed garlic, tomatoes,cucumber little bit of tomato paste and opened up with half a cup water, some salt, black pepper, olive oil as desired and dried mint leaves, it's an awesome salad try it

  11. Haghineh my darling, Loving your recipes as I am an Armenian Assyrian from Iran and my mum usually cook this rice and lentil either with chicken or a lamb shank, oh my God

  12. I made that on Monday, I added half tea spoon cinnamon and cumin, and 1 tbsp sunflower oil to the rice when cooking (for 1cup rice/1cup lentils) – it made it slightly more aromatic. :). Ate it with greek yoghurt, similar to the fellow below! x
