FOOD FOMO S1 E7 – INDIAN SUMMER

Okay Zahra, so I’ve had super FOMO of
this one dish and it is a fusion of two different types of cuisine. So we’re
going to make our way to Indian Summer in Durban north and I’m gonna blindfold
you and we’re gonna taste this amazing dish, are you ready? – I’m so excited, let’s do it Teneille So today I’m with the absolutely gorgeous
Zahra Dada. Ah, thank you. So we’ve had a super FOMO about this
Indian Chinese fusion cuisine that they’re doing at the moment. Are we
having noodles or rice? like Chinese noodles or rice. I don’t know, this is food FOMO I don’t know what to expect. Why don’t we have a tea party? It’s a very spicy and aromatic. It just looks
very – looks thick and velvety Ah it smells delicious. It smells spicy, hey. It tastes like um a bit of
condensed milk, it tastes like cinnamon – cardamom it tastes like cardamom. Mmm okay so I’m going
to leave you to finish this cup of tea. So I love and leave you and I’m going to
cook for you. Okay Zahra, I’ve just come from the
kitchen there were flames flying, the food is
delish It looks amazing, so pop those blindfolds
on. Wow it smells very fresh, hot, tangy. I do smell a bit of
spice in there. Am I, am I smelling prawns? Noodles. Yes! Mmmm A few Indian spices in there How’s that? First thing I get
is the spice. It’s really flavorful, it is a prawn, and it’s so juicy and delicious.
Honestly, I think one of the best prawn dishes I’ve ever tasted. I’m ready to dig in.
Ta-da. I think it was an awesome choice just to give us that proper Chinese-Indian
cuisine flavor, right? Mmm. Yum. I love that the carrots are still
crunchy, because the prawns are so soft But the variety of flavors is
so evident. There’s a sweet and sour consistency in here so that’s where the
Chinese aspect comes in. This has really you know upped my seafood game The mystery begins, I’m excited. So the
next one is an all vegetarian dish. Ooh, the big arrival. Thank You. Ooh spicy, spicy, spicy Rich, Salty I have such big food FOMO. How delicious? Wow! What is this? So it’s a Manchurian, which is all
vegetables and it’s um corn flour with carrots and cabbage and it’s like made
into a little dumpling the flavor is so salty that it just it
just goes and fried rice, who doesn’t love fried rice? I love fried rice, it’s
addictive. Ooh look at that egg and there’s cabbage yeah this chili there’s
carrots there’s cabbage and onion Just take a look at the colours. There’s chilli, there’s carrots, there’s cabbage There’s garlic. -Garlic, a lot of garlic in
here How about we mix the sauce from the
previous dish on top of this and create like a fusion – a proper fusion. So I’m gonna get a bite of
my dumpling. Okay I’m gonna find my prawn and I’m gonna put
all the different sauces on here. Some egg, Spot on. I think we just created a
dish here. This took everything to the next level This is insane but you can definitely taste that
green chili in there, the garlic, the salt So Zahra tell us a little bit about yourself, what are you doing at the moment? So I’ve studied branding and business management at Vega and this year my focus is on the entertainmant industry So marketing, presenting, acting and modelling and It’s been such an awesome journey so far and yeah just loving it so we have had the most flavorsome,
aromatic, beautiful experience right at Indian summer in Durban North and we’ve
been with the beautiful Zahra, have you had fun? I’ve had such an awesome time
thank you so much, what an awesome sensory experience, one of the best
restaurants I’ve been to in Durban. Ya, so we’ve had the Prawn Szechuan and it came with noodles and then we had the vegetable Manchurian which was insanely delicious. So can we say NOMO to FOMO? Say NOMO to FOMO
