Hello, I am Madhura and welcome to MadhurasRecipe Marathi Let’s see how to make restaurant style jeera rice today. Jeera rice is made in different ways. Like you make jeera tadka, add rice to it and cook. Some people use whole spices while making jeera rice. Today, let’s see simple and easy restaurant style recipe. Heat up a pan on medium heat. Take 1 cup long grain basamati rice. Soak rice for 30 minutes. Add 1 1/2 cups water. I have soaked rice for 30 minutes. So moisture is absorbed in rice. So we are adding 1 1/2 cups water for 1 cup rice. Do not add more water than this. If you have just washed rice and haven’t soaked it, then use 2 cups water for 1 cup rice. Add salt to taste and mix well. Bring rice to boil in high heat. It should start boiling. Rice has begun to boil nicely aftre 3-4 minutes on high heat. Lower the heat to medium. Add 1 tsp ghee. This is optional. If you don’t like or you are calorie conscious, you can skip ghee. Ghee enriches flavour of this rice. It tastes awesome. So mostly I add ghee. Cover the pan. Try to use glass lid. Cook rice until 90% water is absorbed. No need to absorb all water. After cooking rice covered on medium for 5 minutes, you can see, almost all moisture is absorbed. Lower heat to lowest. Cook rice on lowest heat for 15 minutes. On lowest heat. If rice sticks to bottom of pan on lowest heat of your gas, Then place a flat skillet on gas and put pan on it and cook. Use thick bottom and flat pan while cooking basamati rice in pan. So that the rice gets evenly cooked. It doesn’t become sticky or clumpy. It gets nicely cooked. I have cooked rice on lowest heat for 15 minutes. Kept in covered for 15 minutes more after turning off gas after 10 minutes. Let’s see now how is it cooked. You can see. Each grain of rice is separated. Separate rice with help of fork. Do this when rice is hot. So that it doesn’t become sticky. Rice is cooked now. Let’s see how to make jeera rice. Let’s make tadka for it. Heat up 1 tsp oil in a pan. You can use butter or ghee instead of oil. Add cumin seeds and let it sizzle up. Lower the heat to lowest. Add cooked rice in tadka. We have added salt while cooking rice. So ne need to add salt now. Add lots of coriander leaves. You can do like this if gueats are coming your home. Keep the cooked rice ready. And you can fry this rice just befor having meal. Mix well and fry for 3-4 minutes nicely. On medium heat. We have to heat it just a little. It is already hot as we have just made it. I hope you can see texture of rice. I have fried rice until it is little steamed. It is looking yummy. Jeera tadka flavour is just awesome. This tastes same as we get in hotels or restuarant.
